hi there, simple question as i never seen it done:

is it ok to use a powercap for a turbo conversion?

its bigger than the stock LET tophat and even the bigger replacements for it

plus, its facing the left side wich makes it easyer for the tubing.. Thumbs Up

Will work, but will still need the dounut rubber as it's a wierd shape and will end up reducing down to 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 which ever size it is!

Nice bottom picture, wonder where you got that from PMSL

ooops, sorry dewis, took it from google images didnt see the source really.. :dunno:

the comparaison is clear, its a MASSIVE diference..

what i fear is the lack of pressure it may cause. you need it somewhat narrow enough to channel the pressure produced by the turbo.

if it too wide, the pressure will be lost when reaching cilinders i supose... Confused

I don't mind mate Thumbs Up
I think for your XE turbo conversion this wouldn't be any good as you would lose presure like you said I'd stick to a 2"-2 1/2" I only ran that big cause I have a biggish turbo running 20+ psi Nod
for your 8-10psi boost I'd keep the boost piping as short as possible to held with response Thumbs Up

how about having a T3 turbo doing the job? would it still be too much? even at the very same 10psi? (planning on LET pistons with xe rods)

its a shame having to sell the powercap but it seems that i will have more problems than gains trying to keep it! Sad
