bought a 12k mile shell




bought some parts













then put some avo's, cesaro's and eagle f1's on to the car




then stripped it

its not an escort mate its a 1972 vaux chevette we are putting an xe in it at some point

engine is
low comp pistons 7.9:1
eagle rods
arp 2000 bolts
arp main stud conversion

big valve head, fully ported and polished, over size valves uprated springs

750cc injectors
kent pulleys

hybrid t34 0.63 turbo

helix 4 paddle clutch
f28 with quaiffe diff, (box had all new synchros and bearings)

head on solids? seems very nice spec to be fair. what sort of power you gona be happy with for now?

head is still on hydraulic lifters i see no reason to change as yet, as for power anything over 300bhp i will be happy with it should however see between 350-400bhp if all goes well

i will have a 3 map switch on the car so i can chnage the boost levels etc if its to lary for track so maybe 250bhp-300bhp-350bhp settings. i will see what jim reckons at jkm

well alot as happened its now mapped up to 1bar Thumbs Up

took a 5hr 30 minute drive each way from south wales to kirkbride

0.8bar



and the final one 1.05 bar



final figures for the day were

363bhp 382 ft lbs @ 1.05 clap

massive thanks to johnny at jdm he is a legend

will be going up in a few weeks to raise the boost

Great car, shame that the map JDM put on it was a steaming pile of shite and melted his engine.

Should think the power figure can safely be taken with a fucking massive dollop of salt too.

Nothing that cant be fixed next time though.

In true VS fashion Gary is going to have a crack at mapping himself this time rather than pay someone who does a bodged up job on it like he did last time
