"Whats the nosh facilities like?
Nothing to get excited about I'm sorry to say. "
Hmm! Trev, why dont you sell hot dogs and hamburgers from the van, as well as doing nitrous refills.
I can see it now!!

i race here a lot and its pretty good for what it is,just don;t expect pod cos you will be dissapointed. entrance is 10 quid and its 30 quid to race.you have to have a helmet and the car/bike is scrutineered before you can sign on.
approach road is a shambles,10mph max in anything with decent suspension, will stick some picks up in a bit when i find them

ok, it is a rwyb, but at york they split it into different classes,i think most of us will be in class t(over 2.0 with turbo or nitrous,2wd) or class x(same as above but 4wd)
to go in these classes the car has to be road legal, that includes tyres, although they don't check that often.
these are a few pics from the 24th of march this year
where the cerbera is parked is the fire up road /pits which is gravel/mud unfortunately
this is the entrance off the road
this is the approach road
snack van
start line, this has changed a bit now, with a concrete burnout pad
fire up lane/pits
don't be put off by any of this though cos it has a really good friendly type atmosphere.
some of you southerners might need an interpreter as well cos there are a hell of a lot of geordies there .lol
any more questions,just ask

not sure on b&b's mate, might be something in the local villages?
i have only seen them stop people signing on once in 4 years due to it being busy, and even then they let them sign on at 2pm,so i think you will be safe.
its 12 miles north from j38(howden) of the m62 if that helps for a b&b/travelodge?

Great pics mate. A lot better than I had imagined.
I dont think mine will have tax or mot for the 15th June. But I'm not worried about being road legal to enter a class though. I'm just looking for times really. _________________ 1975 MGB V8

its not as strict as that perry, its mainly the tyres and the bodywork,if it looks like a road car its usually ok. there are a few grasstrack cars that run for example, which are definitely not road legal, buggy type things with bike engines in them.

Sounds even better Bryan.
I will be trying my Toyo Proxes and my trusty old BFG's with about 3mm of tread left.
Once I've smoked these out they will be slicks. _________________ 1975 MGB V8

Hmmm.
I had a wee look at the RWYB regs for York Raceway.
Looks like no Drag Slicks are allowed?
If that is the case then I probably won't bother. |

I've run my drag slicks at several rwyb events at york and i've always run in my class as well (T for me)...and there's usualy quite few running them in various classes.
The other bonus of running drag slicks is they normaly let you burn out/launch from the dedicated and prepared area for 'proper' drag machines (there's 2 staging areas on each lane). That means grip!!!

IF there are ANY problems, there is a HIGH PROBABILITY that I'll be able to get them sorted, as Murt (the track promoter) is a long time friend and he'll do whatever he can (within safety limits) to accomodate racers requirements.
Just let me know if you forsee any issues and I'll look in to them for you.

there is no problem with running slicks deb. it's just that you "should" be in a different class to the road legal ones.but they don't usually check, which does nark me a bit as i don't run them so it gives some people an unfair advantage over others.
