WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOX!!!!!

NO standard Jap ignition coils are any good!!!

I'll get the right coils for you as quickly as possible, just remind me what value resistance the originals were again.

It's times like this I wish I hadn't sold my bike dyno. Sad

Regards

My bet is that you will have problems dealing with it that way, because a weak spark causes the same results as a rich mixture and you could end up chasing your tail rather than achieving optimum results. This is even more likely unless you have a knowledgeable expert doing the dyno work with/for you.

Please take my word for it, doing the coils first is the right way forward and could end up saving you £100s in wasted dyno time.

Remember I've been there and done that hundreds of times, when customers have failed to follow my advice for whatever reason. Idea

Regards

Thanks have tracked down some but now everybody seam to have an opion on what to fit

My book say stock coils are between 1.9 and 2.9

I have tested them they are 2.6 so that all fine

so smoe say with out a dyna 2000 ignition fit 3.0 ohm green ones

and then some say fit 2.2 ohms with out dyna 2000 ignition and then some say the 2.2 ohms are perfect only if i have a dyna 2000 WHICH I DONT

and then some say 3.0 may fek ignition

so best bet seams to me i go to pub and get drunk LOL

oki fek it got this email so im going with the grey 2.2 lol same colour as me hair i think

If the manual says 1.9 - 2.9 Ohms then the grey 2.2 ohm coils
Are good to go - the rule is that they should not be lower resistance
Than the lower stock figure of 1.9 ohms.

The grey coils will give you a better spark than the green 3 ohm ones
Which should be an advantage with the nitrous.

That is all correct and if you look back at the info I've given you on coils in the past, you'll find I've said the same thing. Idea

well got coils and leads today they a lot bigger than standard ones , 1 st thought just wack brackets with hammer on frame Hmm did not seam to profesional so after an hour of thinking and fiddling yep a qucik blow to the frame mounts with a hammer , they fit now :-) says primary dont matter which pairs of which wires gose where but will put back same as OEM any way

Hmmmm coil lead on me old coils were moulded in and i knew where they went, the dyna have plug in no marking on coils so im asuming so long as me left one dose 1 + 4 and right 2+ 3 it dont really matter which HT outlet i use on coil

PS just a note on anyone wanting coils i was quoted every thing from £90 inc vat upto £128 just for coils got pair coils in end with set of dyna leads for £120 inc the postage at £10 next day delivery

If it fires up weekend will be test :-) new coils new 75bhp jets new solionid mounts No worried at all Trev say be OKI :-)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FFS well my motorcycle plugs dont use the the extra screw on bit on top of plug and they dont come with that bit seam my new leads Need this screw on bit for plugs some one just shoot me lol Evil

DO NOT USE the new coils TILL we've fitted the ends CORRECTLY for you, otherwise you'll get WORSE performance than you had from the standard set up.

I had hoped you'd contact me before fitting them, so I could give you all the ESSENTIAL tips to get the best from them - like;
1) Have HT ends fitted by an old pro - ME!!!
2) Be VERY CAREFUL when tightening up the LT screws
3) Ensure the LT wires point away from the HT wires
4) Fit the HT terminal into the coil using a small electrical screw driver and make sure it sits FULLY inside the insulation.
5) Fill the HT insulating boots with silicone sealer and secure to the coils with a cable tie round the boot and rim of the moulding of the coil outlet.
6) Route HT leads away from any metal work - not easy that one.

If you can't get the plug ends I might be able to find some for you.

Regards

oki now im worried lol, feker :-) no i blaged a set of the caps and so far have just mounted coils

bag is ready for me to post to you :-) as i rember you saying that bit kind of important to have done right

LT connections are at end away from HT and i was going to re route wires to drop dowm from top frame tube straight onto lt connections

routing away from metal may be big prob due to location of coils but i have lots of cable ties and old big bore fule pipe if i need an insulator

I hope you haven't cut them too short for some of the insulation to be cut back 1/2" to make a good contact. Idea

I'll get them done and back to you ASAP.

That all sounds good to me.

Just remember to aim and route the low tension terminals and wires WELL AWAY from the HT leads.

All fitted , silicone cable ties on boots LT leads well away from HT side and geuss what ITS FYCKING PISSING DOWN :-(

Hmmm if its so important to have LT leads well away from HT common sence would suggest that dyna put these connections at other end !!!!! as the outlets on coils point down at a 45 degree angle or is there a reason they make it such a pain in arse
